UNCG Warehouse Services is committed to recycling surplus
for the UNCG campus. Surplus property is
available by transfer to campus departments, state agencies, and not-for-profit
organizations. These items are also available to the general public through our
monthly Public Surplus Sales. Surplus property is recycled FREE of CHARGE to UNCG Departments.
We're excited to announce the implementation and rollout of our "Got Surplus?" program. This new system will:
1) Create an online inventory that is updated as new items are submitted. This inventory can be viewed online by anyone at UNCG.
2) Send an email to the warehouse with dynamically generated barcodes for the items submitted. The user will receive an email copy of their submission so no paper forms are needed.
3) Allow the warehouse staff to accurately track items that move through the warehouse and to the public sale.
4) Ensure that all items that go to the public sale are barcoded, creating a more "retail-like" environment for small items. This will promote an "item-in-hand" purchasing practice rather than the old "blue-ticket" system.
See the "Staff Information" section below or click the "Got Surplus" logo to the right to get started.
Staff Information:
Need surplus items picked up from your office? Visit our "Got Surplus?" page for details on how to submit your order. The FA-13 form that was used for general surplus is now only used for the disposition of fixed-asset items. These details and more are contained in the "Got Surplus" link above.
Faculty and Staff can take time to browse around the Warehouse
looking for reusable items for their department. Be sure to contact the warehouse staff for availability and an appointment.
UNCG Warehouse Services is pleased to announce the implementation of a barcode system. Beginning in September 2008, the surplus sale will operate in a retail fashion where smaller items must be carried to the register and larger items will have a blue ticket (similar to the old system), a barcode and a description of the item. The untaped, barcoded half of the ticket will be removed from the item and presented to the cashier for payment. The half that remains on the item has a unique number that matches the barcoded half. This is used to identify the specific item purchased.
Warehouse officials ask that customers keep the following points in mind while shopping:
Doors will open at 9 a.m. on Friday. No sale previews will be available.
All merchandise will be sold as is, and must be picked up at the time of purchase.
All purchases must be paid for in cash.
No labor will be furnished. Buyers must be prepared to carry the items they purchase.
Please be advised that the Greensboro City Police Department actively enforces parking regulations on the streets surrounding UNCG Warehouse Services. Follow these parking guidelines when attending our monthly Surplus Sales:
Park with the flow of traffic.
Park a minimum of 25 feet from all intersections.
Park a minimum of 5 feet from either side of all driveways.
Thank you for your cooperation.
